Lauren Celano is the co-founder and CEO of Propel Careers, a life science search and career development firm focused on connecting talented individuals with entrepreneurial innovative life sciences companies. Lauren is very passionate about working with individuals with strong scientific backgrounds to find exciting growth opportunities in the life sciences industry. Before Propel, she spent about 10 years in the life sciences industry working with companies to advance drug molecules through SNBL USA, Aptuit, Quintiles, and Absorption Systems. She has a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Gettysburg College and an MBA with a focus in the health sector and entrepreneurship from Boston University. Lauren is on the Board of MassBioEd, the Advisory Board of the Boston University School of Public Health Pharmaceuticals Program, and the advisory board for Endicott College, Boston. She also serves on the Gettysburg College Entrepreneurial Fellowship Advisory Council and the programming committee of the Capital Network.
Molly Walter has been a Technical University Recruiter at Microsoft for a year and a half. She is based out of the Cambridge, MA office and works closely with college students of all ages at MIT and the University of Pennsylvania as well as each summer’s intern class in Cambridge. Before Microsoft, she was a recruiter for the Boston-based e-commerce company Wayfair. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012 with a degree in Cognitive Science and a minor in Computer Science. Her passions include diversity in technology, representation in media, and what Xbox game to play next.
Joyce is a human resources professional with extensive strategic experience within fast-paced, customer-focused organizations with particular expertise in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and scientific environments. Joyce has worked in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, training and development, legal compliance, career transitions, compensation, benefits and immigration. She is currently a recruiter at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute focusing on research positions both clinical and laboratory. Joyce has a Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College and takes many continuing education courses and seminars.
In the new year, Daryn Lewis will join Boston Consulting Group as the First Talent Manager supporting the Center of Knowledge & Analytics. In this role, Daryn will provide programmatic leadership development direction and individual coaching to drive career development and mobility opportunities for CKA’s talented team of data scientists, researchers and analysts. Daryn previously served as Senior Manager of Organizational Development at EnerNOC, a leading provider of energy intelligence software and services, and was responsible for global talent management and learning and development programs. Daryn joined EnerNOC, then a pre-IPO startup, as an HR Generalist and soon thereafter assumed additional responsibility as head of recruitment, leading US and international talent acquisition efforts and supporting M&A activity to grow the company from 70 to 700 employees. In addition to holding a BA from Wellesley College, Daryn is a certified MBTI practitioner and Clifton StrengthsFinder coach. She has a certificate in Internal Coaching from Teacher’s College at Columbia University.
Carina Clingman, PhD
Carina owns Talent Lab Consulting, a niche scientific recruiting organization specializing in helping small biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies attract top scientific talent and create intelligent talent acquisition practices. She holds a PhD in biochemistry and all of her recruiters and consultants also hold advanced degrees in various scientific fields of study. Her primary focus is to streamline the process of identifying and qualifying talented scientists through extensive communication with hiring managers, HR, and the existing scientific staff. She also helps implement technologies that give emerging companies an edge in attracting top talent in competitive scientific areas.
