Her-2: The Making of Herceptin, a Revolutionary treatment for Breast Cancer by Robert Bazell is the biography of Herceptin, the drug that provoked dramatic responses in women in trials and that offers promise for hundreds of thousands of breast cancer patients. This event was part of the MASS AWIS science book club, a new and exciting initiative.
This event was for women and men within the scientific community (undergrad to early career), interested in exploring diverse career options in science. Participants had the opportunity to interact with 10-15 experienced individuals who gave insights into their chosen professions and career trajectories.

A critical part of transitioning careers is letting others know that you are capable of doing it successfully. Effectively communicating your career story is an often forgotten step in career exploration and the job search. This workshop provided tips and tricks on crafting a career story, effective communication, and developing lasting professional relationships.
Today’s job market is highly competitive. The first impression recruiters get of the applicant is their CV. This workshop was designed to give applicants useful tips to improve their CV or résumé as well as letting them know common mistakes they should avoid. In addition, they were able to sit one-on-one with recruiters and get the recruiter's opinions on their CV.
